Easter Egg Run

Red Lion Bottesford, March

I took part in the Easter Egg Run that began at Bottesford and travelled to Grantham football Stadium where the riders stopped to shake hands with the Mayor, hand over 100s of Easter Eggs and enjoy a free hot drink. Then on to Melton Mowbray with even more eggs.

Over 500 bikes left Bottesford and then a smaller group of about 100+ bikes proceeded to Melton.

The weather was fine and the roads dry, the perfect Biking weather.

The initial gathering that parked up in Bottesford before the start at 11.00 stretched for a few hundred yards through the village. The procession was given a helping hand by the Local Police who provided a lead vehicle with blues & twos plus a couple of patrol bikes and some specials on point duty in Grantham. About a dozen travelling marshals helped keep things moving.

After pausing at Tesco in Melton the riders then headed for the special needs school on Asfordby Road in Melton where they where treated to hot drinks and snacks including pork pie.
