White Hart, Lydington

Very nice spring day with a bit of warmth. Highlight of the day was a Barn Owl flying next to us for part of journey.

Meal in the White Hart, Lyddington where on Thursday it is half price. That made the Embers happy..

Red Lion, Market Bosworth

A really dismal day so we delayed our start by loitering in the cafe at Bosworth Heritage Centre as long as we could. Then a swift circuit, late banana break and a bee line to the Red Lion in Bosworth.

After lunch we felt guilty about how few miles we had ridden so we took an indirect ride to Sutton Wharf for more coffee and cake.

Rancliffe Arms, Bunny

Sun finally arrived today, therefore the order of the day was shorts and sunglasses. Sunglasses to protect eyes from white legs. Eleven Embers cycled from Mountsorrel to the Rancliffe Arms in Bunny.

Our ride back was delayed slightly by a puncture so we took the quick route back. Quick enough to give Mush the slip and get back first for Jan's delicious cakes.

The Shires, Peatling Parva

Eleven Embers gathered at the Old Grammar School in Kibworth and then set off into the morning breeze. First stop was Foxton Locks for a coffee and banana break while watching boats moving through. Then on to the The Shires Peatling Parva for lunch.

We then returned with the wind behind us, pausing for more coffee and cake at the Toast Office in Fleckney.

Moving on to May.
