Monday - Carnforth Station

This year we welcomed Kathy and Nigel Lines to our ranks. Everyone met up at the Sand Wich Bar in town before we mounted and set off for a ride to Carnforth Station and Refreshment Room before returning to check into the Strathmore Hotel.

That was enough to whet our appetites for a week of food and cycling.

Tuesday - Hornby

We set off into Lancaster then headed north east

While we took our banana break we set Dave Parry the task of chasing a phantom puncture.

Left to right brandishing their bananas; Grahame Billington, Dave Parry, Ben Crossley, Nigel Lines, Helen Ayriss, Mick Ayriss, Simon Over, Kathy Lines, Richard Clark and Ian Bower.

We paused for refreshments at Caton and lunch at Hornby before tackling hills at the edge of the Forest of Bowland.

We returned to our hotel at 5pm hoping our next ride would not be so hilly.

Wednesday - Glasson Dock

We had to return here to see if their salads were still as good as two years ago. Judge for yourself.

Not to miss out on the hills we climbed to the top of Williamson Park for the view and the Pavilion Café for the cakes.

Thursday - Sunderland Point

Despite two punctures right at the start of the day we made it to the causeway before the tide flooded over it.

After a brief stop for coffee at Shorefields we rode back to the promenade with a following wind.

You can't see the join: Ben Crossley, Dave Parry, Simon Over, Kathy Lines, Helen Ayriss, Nigel Lines, Eric Morecambe, Grahame Billington, Ian Bower, Richard Clark and Mick Ayriss.

The weather was cold and windy but it stayed dry for us.

Another successful tour thanks to the organisation of Mick Ayriss and everyone being good company.
