2021 Cycling

Juneclick for this month's league table

We are competing in Leicester's Beat The Street event throughout June and until 7 July. Sign up, sign in and set your team as LPMCC Embers.
We need 12 to qualify as a team; so far we have 4.

It is a fun event with 354 Beat Boxes (checkpoints) covering Leicester to challenge you on fine days when you should be out and about. There are also team and individual prizes and awards, plus random spot prizes in case you need further incentive.

Brampton Halt

On a flaming June day, ten Embers chose to cycle along the Brampton Way to Brampton Halt for lunch. Total distance by many Embers is miles this week

Dirty Duck

With a couple of Embers self isolating, it remained for many riders to complete miles in search of cake and ice cream.

On the way home Peter and Ben called in to see Ian Goodson at Wartnaby. Ian is well but suffering the ravages of time. Ain't we all?

Corner House

Of the many Embers who cycled miles this week, most rode on Wednesday and followed the Ashby ze la Douche canal, pausing for bananas and for Ben's baptism along the way. Lunch was at the Corner House in Bulkington.

Mick A and Ian B visited Ian J at his new pad on Thursday.

Golden Fleece

The nine Embers who met at Rutland Water started as they meant to continue with refreshments at Wellies Tea Room. From there they made quick progress to Stamford where they waited patiently for the Golden Fleece to open, and for Richard C to fix a puncture.

The group ride was concluded with more refreshements at Wellies.

This week many Embers cycled miles to finish off a good month.

Speeding on into July.
