Just A Few Words From The Editor

The Megaphone roars into life once more after coughing reluctantly to a halt in 1963. Now here it is with petrol in the tank and a new rider, so here we are, on the starting grid again.

It has only got a narrow rev band - it is tuned for motorcyclists who take a pride in their machines and their roadcraft. Normal people, not a race apart, below, who find that pleasure rides on two wheels though comfort may drive on four.

The Phoenix is a touring club in the main. We camp and ride, visit and rally and generally have a high old time doing it.

The motor it exhausts is not very highly tuned. The Phoenix is a touring club in the main. We camp and ride, visit and rally and generally have a high old time doing it. It also helps to get your money's worth out of an expensive piece of machinery.

Somewhere around our stand is a map showing something of what we have done lately and in these pages is a calendar of what we intend to do in the next month or two.

Purely for the benefit of people who are reading this just after waking up, this is the B.M.F. Woburn Rally 1967 and we at the Leicester Phoenix would like to welcome you and everybody else to what we are sure will be an event to remember. So step out into what passes for the sunshine in England and look - there is plenty to see and do.

And our thanks to the B.M.F. for all they have done, all they are doing (not the least of which is this Woburn) and all they intend to do in the future for the people who ride on two wheels.
