Spring is here at last though a bit of Winter keeps slipping back to freeze the fingers & prohibit exuberant bend swinging. After months of very careful riding on my fifty mile round trip to work I can at last break a few speed limits and wear some tread off the sides of my roadrunners.

Taking a look around the pub car park recently I noticed an impressive array of new machines. Dave Cockerton has at last acquired a 1000 BMW. (the first in the club) and 'Bonzo' has struck another first with a Yam 750. Now that we are getting some dry Sundays let's see some of these big machines on club runs. Last Sunday's run to Founders Day Rally at Stanford Hall was well attended and quite a few pints of Ruddles County were downed at the nearby Cave Arms.

Recent skittle matches against other clubs (Corby & Kettering, Hinckley & District) have been well attended & rewarding. The next match is against the Clifton & District club on May 19th. See the Events Secretary for more details.

For those of you who have been pining for a cloth badge to astound all your friends, then help is on its way and sew on badges will be available from the Events Sec later this month. Stickers, T-shirts and machine badges are still available from the Membership Sec so be smart this summer and publicise your club.

A new incentive for rallyists is the Junior Trophy which will be awarded to the club member who visits the most rallies this year. One day events (B.M.F.) don't count and Dave Cockerton (Club Runs Captain) who is running the competition alongside the mileage competition may require some proof of your claims (i.e. rally badge).

New articles are still needed for the next Megaphone and this issue was rushed together with the assistance of Ben, Shirley, Fred and numerous pints of Newcastle Brown.
