Toadily Wasted Rally

2017 & 2018

The Toadily Wasted rally is organised by the Toads & Dogends Motorcycle rally club and is the replacement for the Toad in the Hole rally. The previous rally name didn't really fit after the rally moved from its original site at the Tunnel House Inn. The new name will be ok though, as the Toads and Dogends club are legendary drinkers!

The Friday run down to the rally from Bradford was done on the motorway but on Sunday we cut across to the Fosse Way for our return trip.

This is a popular rally and the site can get a bit crowded. It is held at a caravan site using their social club and facilities. Camping is on a couple of fields but access is via a bit of a slope down from a large car park, so most people leave their bikes off the field. Its probably a good idea if you want to go out on the bike on Saturday as you could easily get blocked in on the campsite.

There are meals available at the club house and there is a portacabin on the car park where free tea and coffee is available all weekend.

There is usually a band and disco on both Friday and Saturday nights but the clubhouse has separate parts where if you want to sit and chat its just about possible.

Both times we have been we have travelled across to the BS Club AGM on the Saturday near Oxford, so we can't comment on what's to see near the site but as you are not far from Worcester and Tewkesbury or even Upton on Severn there are plenty of options for a day out. Our ride out as good too as travelling from a place other than home to somewhere else involves roads that we would not normally use.

There is always a good turnout from our club - Mayflower MCC - so both nights were spent hearing the latest gossip about who was going where next and the usual club banter such as 'Who had forgotten to bring his Force 10 flysheet?' (Paul Ayres). Graham Cooper lent him a groundsheet to make a substitute flysheet. All in all this is one of the better rallies.
