Glentrool and the Mull of Galloway

Another location for camps and close to Stranraer for the crossing to the Ulster Grand Prix or returning from the Shamrock Rally.

Every visit there was an obligatory trek round Loch Trool to work up a thirst and then a long ride to the nearest hotel to quench it.

One year Dave Scrivens brought camping gear in his Hillman Imp and Rob Winnett came up by train. We drove down to the station to get Rob in Dave's Imp and tried to run down a rabbit for supper but the car wheels kept going either side of them.

Other places we visited in this area were the Mull of Galloway lighthouse and the Electric Brae, an optical illusion along the coast which makes a downhill road seem like uphill. We never could figure it out, not even sober.
