Motorcycle Rides

Season Opener

Monday 15 April, Rutland

Dave Parry has spent the past few weeks rebuilding Terry Wright's Honda 400-4 and this was it's first test ride to see what needs to be fine tuned.

There is precious little notice of these rides so if you want to join us you need to give us your contact details.

Autumn

Wednesday 9 October, Cotswolds

On a grey, cool autumn morning Mick Ayriss, Dave Parry, Bob Nash, John Muschialli and myself met at Sainsburys car park for a ride out. Ben came to see us off, to take some photos and then off for a sneaky breakfast!

Made our way to Moreton in Marsh via the Fosse Way through sunshine and cloud to visit the Wellington Museum. As we pulled into the car park, there was Ian Bower waiting for us.

The Wellington Museum is run by Pilot Officer Percy Prune who took time to chat to us and go into his house and bring us all a coffee. Interesting and enjoyable and all for £2.50. Ian headed home after the visit.

After the museum we went to the local Inn on the Marsh, for lunch. On offer were some Dutch meals which Mick had. Mush surprised us all by having salad sandwich (really Jan, he did).

After lunch we headed for Chipping Campden where we wandered round the church built in the 1500s - and Bob disappeared into a bush.

Next stop Stratford upon Avon for coffee and cake (not Mick and Mush - coffee only).

After our walk round and back on our bikes, Mick guided us via some back roads through villages like Hampton Lucy to the Fosse Way. As we headed home we had a heavy shower but I think we had all had a good day.

PS. Walking through Stratford a passer-by said we were like The Last of the Summer Wine. Which ones? Compo?
