2022 Cycling

Octoberclick for this month's league table

Nags Head, Harby

Ten Embers made the most of a sunny and mild day by plunging into the Vale of Belvoir. The route included a short stop to buy Red Leicester and Stilton at Long Clawson Dairy.

The Nags Head in Harby is where we took our lunch before climbing back out of the Vale.

Starting October with many Embers riding miles.

Wharf Inn, Welford

Embers gathered at Lutterworth for a leisurely climb to Welford. Some brave souls still dared to wear shorts on a fairly mild and sometimes bright autumn day.

We were welcomed at the Wharf Inn, Welford then made out way back directly to Lutterworth for tea and cake at Karter's Cafe.

This week we mustered many Embers who cycled miles.

Wheatsheaf, Thurcaston

Due to the terrible weather forecast most sensible Embers decided to pass on cycling. Plans were changed to a meeting at the Deer Park Tearoom in Bradgate Park and then a short ride to the Wheatsheaf for lunch. Four riders were joined there by Mick and Ian.

On a very wet day, many brave souls cycled miles,
(half of those miles by Simon).

The Hare, Loddington

A wet start to the day but Velo John and Derek determined to see out October in shorts. Luckily the temperature was unseasonably mild. In fact, quite warm by the time we reached the top of the hills.

Because of the rain (honest) we made straight for the Revive cafe in Desborough, then the shortest route to The Hare in Loddington. We also called in at Revive on the way back even though the sunshine was breaking through by then. Better safe than sorry.

Wishbone and Dave were sensible enough to do their ride earlier in the week so we had many Embers cycling miles on our final ride for October.

Nipping into nippy Novembrrr.
