2023 Cycling

Appleby Inn, Appleby Parva

Ride out from Coalville into a bluebell covered countryside. Good way to spend a spring day. Helped by good company, a pub lunch and a cuppa on the way back.

- Peter Wright

One unplanned break while Derek got his gears into arse.

This week many Embers cycled miles between them.

Red Lion, Crick

After all fear generated by the weather people we had a great day with almost no rain. Welcome back Velo John, you led us so well — as usual.

- Simon Over

This week many Embers dodged predicted showers on a miles roadworks avoidance gymkhana.

George & Dragon, Seaton

Three Embers met at Manton. Did lots of up hill and down dale riding, led by Velo John. Stopped off at Grounds Cafe in Fineshade for coffee.

Then onto The George and Dragon in Seaton for lunch. Cycled back to The Rutland Nursery Cafe for tea and coffee.

- Grahame Billington

Four Embers touring Worcestershire, so many Embers cycled miles on their best day this week.

Sun Inn, Gotham

Before our ride, Tim, Peter and Ben called in to get John Beccles out of bed.

Velo John assisted by Derek took us on an ... er ... interesting route across styles, over fences and through a muddy wood to the Sun Inn at Gotham.

Nigel took the lead for our return and took us on sensible roads to Gallery 119 in Sutton Bonington for a necessary coffee break.

Finishing May with many Embers riding and walking miles through the woods.

Come on, Summer!
