The Hare, Loddington

Seven Embers met at East Carlton Park and were welcomed by Stuart Drage of the Kettering and District MCC. From there we headed south, diving underneath the A14 to reach The Hare at Loddington for lunch.

Simon had to hurry home but six returned through Desborough to be revived at Revive and then back to East Carlton Park.

Another local ride. A group of four Embers cycled to Hungarton via Barkby. Sudden urge for a cuppa and a dash to East Goscote Garden Centre Cafe. A good day of socialising and cycling.

- Peter

This week many Embers cycled miles between them.

Queens Head, Newton Regis

Today had no rain and little wind plus a new pub at Newton Regis that turned out OK. Add in coffee at The Smithy Farm Shop, Grendon plus one at Sutton Cheney Wharf a good day was had all round.

- Simon

A ride into Warwickshire. Not a very good welcome from the pub's pets, but inside the pub it was the opposite. Nice to be back out with the guys.

- Peter

With ten cyclists on the official ride and two cycling locally, our total this week added up to miles by many Embers.

Wheatsheaf, Langham

Seven Embers ignored Storm Babet to gather at the (new) cafe at Rutland Nurseries. John Ashworth led the group on a merry chase that included more than a few hills.

I planned on rain that thankfully did not arrive. Another new route by VJ plus a new pub at The Wheatsheaf in Langham. Well done John. Altogether much better day than expected.

- Simon

This week many Embers defied the forecast to cycle miles.

Wharf Inn, Welford

A wet start with gear and lights on but almost clear by 10am. Nice to visit the Wharf at Welford again with great company as always.

- Simon

Arrived at the Wharf Inn unexpected at todays lunch break but it worked out OK. Rain and bike repairs but Embers are a tough bunch.

- Peter

This week many Embers cycled miles between them.

Hoping for some dry days in November.
