Out of the Asylum Rally

Littleport Leisure Centre in Cambrideshire in mid August

This was the first time I have done this rally and I am glad that I did. The centre is a fantastic facility which has two bars one with real ale and cider at very good prices and food also at good prices. It also has showers and lots of flat level well kept grass for camping on. The staff were excellent throughout and, of course, thanks must go to the Cambs Looney Club for organising the event.

Friday night there was a rock disco and I met up with some friends from Norfolk and we sampled the real ales on offer.

Saturday I walked into town and saw the stainless steel Harley Davidson sculpture and then walked down to the River Ouse which is known as the 10 Mile Bank stretch where such match fishing legends as Syd Meads and Ivan Marks and the Leicester likely lads honed there skills although I do not know whether the real Legend of Leicester Nigel Woodthorpe was in the team.

Saturday night saw the disco and a local band Dave play. Much dancing and cider consumption was performed.

The weather was good all weekend and I would highly recommend this rally to anyone.
