Border Rally

I organised a couple of these Rallies with members of the Cirencester Tigers MCC. It was known as the Border Rally because they were situated at the Horse And Groom pub exactly on the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border.

Years 1967 1968. The day's GROUP 66, the main rally organisers of the day, led by the Nottingham 41 MCC.

The great days of traditional rallying, no bands, no disco, just plain self entertainment, rugby songs.

The rallies were mainly put on by request from the 41 and the Tees Tornadoes MCC for a venue south of the usual midlands and northern venues.

The first one drew several riders from Teesside, who won the long distance award.

Nottingham 41 were there in force, led by Ivor.

A good enjoyable rally and I enjoyed putting them on.
