East of Essex Rally
16th July 1983 - East Essex MCC
I found it difficult to really get into the 'vibe' of the rally as I had been elsewhere on the Friday. I find I usually need the first night just to get 'into' rallies.
Having been to one rally already this weekend, we knew the weather was hot. We weren't expecting, however, to be presented with so many ladies wandering around topless and making use of various water containers set around the field.
The cable slide was very popular this year, but the heat made the games harder to participate in, especially the tug-of-war.
I was surprised they bothered to hold a wet t-shirt in the evening, as the girls had been in varying degree of clothing, wet and otherwise, all day.
The rest of the event seemed to go off all right and it was another hot and sunny day on the Sunday to drive home on.
